#1 “Is your documentation up to date?”
Extraction system providers need to comply with various regulations – and if they’re not compliant, YOU can be held liable. That’s why it’s important to ask for documentation like public liability, letter of good standing, safety file, tax clearance, and so forth.
#2 “Did you quote me on a stainless-steel canopy?”
Galvanised canopies used to be the go-to, but over the last couple of years it’s become ILLEGAL to install. Fly-by-knights will still try their luck and attempt to install a galvanised canopy, which is why it’s essential to ask this question and make sure that you’re on the right side of the law.
#3 “What grade and thickness stainless steel will you be using?”
We won’t bore you with the details and specifications but using good quality steel means that your canopy is more robust and lasts longer. We pride ourselves on using 1.2mm thick stainless steel, whereas most of our competitors only use 0.9mm to fabricate their canopies.
#4 “Can I get info on past products you’ve done?”
Every extraction system expert that’s worth their salt will take photos and get contactable references. So, don’t be afraid to ask for this! Call the references to find out if they’re happy with the work months after it’s been done, and take a close look at the photos to see that they’ve done a neat job.
